GPS in the woods

All trees and movements of our forest managers in our Bolivian FSCĀ® concessions are registered by GPS.

The decision to cut a tree is not based on the maximum allowed cutting according to FSCĀ®. Instead we look at the position of the tree and its shape. If the lower part of the tree is twisted, the recovery is generally lower. In which case we prefer to leave it standing.

This information of specific trees is saved with the GPS coordinates and the efficiency of our guys in the forest can be measured at the same time.

In this way, we could even trace back our decking, fences or table tops to the original tree in the Dekma Bolivia forest.
