Colour of heartwood:
The heartwood is pink brown, red
brown or, in some species, orange brown. Durian is generally multi-coloured
(not uniform).
Colour of sapwood:
The sapwood, on average about 50 mm
wide, has a lighter colour and is easy to discern from the heartwood.
Mass density:
(420-) 680 (-1150) kg/m³ at 12% humidity
rate. Due to the large number of tree species in the Durian family, there is a
wide range of mass density and therefore also a wide range of properties and
applications.

During the drying process, thin parts
sometimes have a tendency to concave warping.

Probably good.
Machining:
Durian is easy to saw and can usually be
planed to a good smoothness. Some species, however, show some woolly spots
after planing, in particular on the radial surface.

range of light construction work, for interior window and door frames,
