Quality:

Dekker Hout imports the Oregon Pine both as full-length (No. 2 Clear and Better) and in flawless cut blocks.

Brown yellow to red brown  Colour of sapwood: Yellow white +/- 50 mm wide rims

Mass density:

500-600 kg/m3 16% m/m

Grain:

Rather straight-grained

Fissure:

Hardly ever occurs when dried properly.

Warping:

Carefully dried Oregon Pine does not often tend to warp.

Knots:

Small and large knots may occur. Whether or not the part can be used must be assessed during production. Around the knots extensive slope of grain occurs, which may cause warping.

Mould and insects:
Virtually not applicable.

Durability grade:
3 - medium durable, wall panelling KVT'95 grade B.

Gluing:
The presence of resin may lead to problems with glue bonding. Applying Oregon Pine in glued form (with PVAC glues) is no longer allowed. Finger-jointing is excellent.

Machining:
Can be machined with HS or hard-metal tools when equipped with turning blades. Easy to saw, shave, profile and drill. Sanding belts are quickly contaminated with resin.
