Standard and Better according to Malaysian Grading Rules.

Colour of heartwood:

Heartwood is yellow brown to grey brown.

Colour of sapwood: 

The sapwood is white to light brown.

Mass density: 

850-920 kg /m3 15%m/m.

Grain: 
Generally strong cross-grains and medium slope of grain.

Fissure: 

Surface has high tendency to fissure. Wood dried too quickly contains extensive dry fissure. Checks are frequent.

Warping:

Even carefully dried wood has medium to extensive tendency to warping.



  Knots:
Large, intergrown knots may occur, but are excluded within the Standard & Better standard.

Bio-substances: 
The wood contains gum and calcium veins.

Mould and insects: 
Virtually not applicable.

Durability grade:
 
2 - Durable

Gluing: 
Poor

Machining:
Only reasonable machining possible with hard-metal cutting tools.
Fixtures such as screws and wire nails must be pre-drilled.

Dekker range:
Various raw wood sizes and a very extensive range of garden wood.

General applications: 
Garden wood, garden furniture, bridge decking, dividers, pig stalls, horse boxes etc. This species of wood is very difficult to finish with varnish, paint or stain; however, some special Bangkirai oils are available.
